This is beautiful!!! I wonder if I could get my husband to make one for my granddaughter? Hmmmmm. As for turning the lights on and off I had gotten an extinstion cord at Home Depot a few years back around Christmas that you plug your lights into and it had a button that you stepped on to turn it on and off. I don't know if it is something that is sold all the time but might be worth asking about.
